English Support Group Class for Years 7-9

This is a language support class for second language speakers who need extra help with their English.

We will cover: vocabulary, reading comprehension, speaking fluency and confidence, grammar accuracy and writing for creative purposes.

This class is suitable for students in Year 7-9 (aged 11-13) who need extra English support.

The class goes at a slower, more supportive pace to build students’ language skills and confidence.

• One live lessons with me per week, one hour each, hosted on Teams
• All live lessons will be recorded and shared after class in case you can’t attend or wish to review
• Weekly homework tasks
• Regular feedback and marking
• Ability to ask questions to clarify any questions you may have

• I’m a fully-qualified English teacher in the UK, holding Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a PGCE from the University of Manchester, graded Outstanding
• I have a Master’s degree in Education, earning the top grade of Distinction
• Eleven years of teaching experience, working in the British state school and top international schools
• Experienced teacher of First Language English
• Seven years of working as an IGCSE and A Level English examiner
• Experienced tutor and online teacher
• Passionate about teaching, learning and helping students to enjoy the learning process
• Understanding of how to give targeted and meaningful feedback that drives student improvement

All group classes will be recorded so students can watch the lesson in their own time. Students are free to contact me to ask clarifying questions.

Each group class will begin with a student voice survey, so I can understand students’ strengths and weaknesses, tailoring my lessons to their requests.

There will be regular student votes to decide what content we will cover.

I aim to have approximately 4-6 students per group class. This might be slightly more or slightly less depending on demand.

Parents will pay monthly at the start of the month for that month’s classes. Payments can be made in any currency. Alipay, WeChat, Mastercard and Visa are all accepted.

Each month’s fees must be pre-paid in advance.

The first month’s payment is taken as a non-refundable deposit.

After the first month, if you wish to cancel pre-paid classes, you will receive a 50% refund of any unused classes.

If a student is sick or unable to attend a single class, no refund will be given. Lessons are recorded for the student’s convenience so they are able to catch up when they are able.

The Pre-IGCSE English Group Class is aimed at KS3, years 7-9.

It is suitable for EAL students or students who need additional language support.

Every Thursday at 9:40-10:40 AM GMT starting from Thurs 3rd September.
